Local Programs

This page provides links to local Head Start and Early Head Start programs. Please remember that grantees are funded and monitored directly by the federal government. Thus while each program operates independently, all provide the same quality programming.

Note: Not all counties are served by Head Start and Early Head Start. In addition, some counties are served by more than one program. For example, in Dakota County, Goldenrod Hills Community Action operates the Head Start program and Boys and Girls Home operates Early Head Start. In Omaha, Salvation Army provides Early Head Start services, while Head Start is administered by the Community Development Institute. Head Start in the towns of Macy, Santee and Winnebago is provided by the Omaha, Santee and WInnebago tribes.The remainder of Knox and Thurston counties is served by Goldenrod Hills.
